General Manager Legal and Compliance
We are seeking an ambitious, imaginative and innovative commercial lawyer with exceptional management experience to lead our diverse legal and compliance team. As General Manager Legal and Compliance reporting to the Managing Director and being a member of the Executive Management Team, you will have full responsibility for the legal and regulatory compliance functions of BSP Life (Fiji) Limited and subsidiaries BSP Health Care (Fiji) Ltd, Oceania Hospitals Pte Limited, Suva Private Hospital Limited and Future Farms Limited trading as Rooster Poultry.
Your strategic thinking and advisory skills are required to develop, evaluate and co-ordinate the provision of the full range of legal services required by the business, delivering superior levels of service.
You will be involved in some of the most challenging and satisfying aspects of law, including commercial, compliance, conveyancing, litigation, research, risk identification and contract management. You will also act as Company Secretary on Company Boards where BSP Life has substantial shareholding interest. BSP Life has an investment portfolio of $675m making it one of Fiji's largest institutional investors.
This is a unique career progression opportunity and it is essential that you have the following:
- A strong understanding and knowledge of commercial law and the business environment in which that law operates;
- 10 years plus experience advising on commercial legal matters;
- Strong leadership, people management and team development skills;
- A law degree from a reputable university and a current unrestricted practicing certificate.
