On Saturday 31 August, the Premium Management team from BSP Life made their way to Navolau in Ra to visit the Navolau District School. The school has a kindergarten which caters for four villages in the tikina of Rakiraki namely Navolau 1, Navolau 2, Namuaimada and Nakorokula.
The school was registered in 1938 and has nine teachers looking after 161 students including kindergarten aged children from the four villages. The school is looked after by a district committee chaired by Mr Vusoni Tuinaqomu and managed by Mr Etonia Savo.
The BSP Life team donated five cartons of books for the children's library which was warmly accepted by the head teacher, Mr Varayame Moceituba.
The Premium Management Team Leader at BSP Life, Ms Asena Dauveiqaravi said, "Navolau District School is engaged in the conservation of their beachfront, which they have been doing for the last 10 years. It was pleasing to note that the school also promoted planting of vegetables, and taught the children traditional art and craft to develop the children's skills."
"While listening to the stories at Navolau, we realise how much we take a lot of things for granted here in the city. Our team are happy to have assisted in a little way in making a difference in the children's lives and we look forward to doing more of this community work."
